On Tuesday evening, Russia targeted Kyiv with a third wave of drone strikes, leading to one person dead and three injured.
What is the Complete News?
A Russian drone hit a high-rise apartment building in Kyiv and started a fire on Tuesday. The attack led to one person dead and three injured by falling debris. It was the third wave of strikes from Russia in 24 hours that came after a rare daytime attack on Monday.
However, the military administration of Kyiv reported that two upper floors of the building were completely destroyed due to the drone attack. It is also anticipated that some people could still be stuck under the rubble.
Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor, made a statement that one person had died, and the other three were hospitalized.
Aftermath
One of the people hospitalized was a 27 years old woman with moderate injuries caused by falling debris. Mayor said it was a massive attack and asked people to stay indoors, adding that a multi-storey building was also damaged in the Holosiivskyi district.
The night-time attack was carried out using drones, the military administration said. They reported it was the third time Russia attacked Kyiv. They added Russia is constantly changing its weapons with every attack.
Russia had used a combined-missile drone, ballistic, then exclusive UAVs. The administration made a statement the falling debris resulted in a fire at a house in the southern Darnytskyi district.
The Ukrainian President claimed Tuesday’s attack was the 17th air assault by Russia this month. However, people accustomed to the attacks were rushing towards Kyiv’s metro stations and other shelters until bursts of smoke from air defenses dotted the clear sky.
What’s Next?
In May month, Russia repeatedly attacked the Ukrainian capital, mostly at night. They have used a lethal combination of drones and missiles. The head of military administration, Serhii Popko, said that Russia wants to exhaust air defenses with the relentless spate of attacks and keep Ukrainian civilians in deep psychological tension.
However, some things favor Ukraine; their anti-aircraft defenses are running out of ammunition, and US patriots are not arriving in sufficient quantity. Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian President, praised US-supplied anti-missile defenses.
He said the terror would be defeated when the Patriots in Ukrainian’s hands ensure a 100% interception rate of Russian missiles.
